ElderChair Yoga, founded by Lynn Lehmkuhl, RYT, has been serving New York City with chair yoga for seniors since 2014. She offers seated low-impact yoga workouts in-home and on-site at senior centers and places of work. Lynn is highly skilled and experienced in working with seniors and the physically impaired. Licensed and insured, she has been a registered yoga teacher since 2003.

Why I Teach

I have practiced yoga for 25 years and will be forever grateful for all of its physical and spiritual benefits it has afforded me. As a yoga teacher I was drawn to the specialty of chair yoga because of the opportunity to bring the many benefits I have experienced to people who require the safety and security of being seated. I work with seniors, people with physical challenges and those with cognitive impairment. I am gratified each and every time I teach when I see increased movement, strength and flexibility.

CHAIR YOGA FOR SENIORS

One of the biggest concerns among aging men and women is the fear of falling. Chair yoga, or “yoga while seated,” allows anyone to experience all of the benefits of an exercise program without being afraid. Our Services

In-Home Private Chair Yoga

45 MINUTES $125

Private chair yoga sessions are customized for one’s particular physical needs and personal preferences. After a detailed intake I design a program that is unique to you. I create playlists using music that you love because music always makes everyone feel better. I come on a day and time that works best for you.

One-On-One Private Chair Yoga on Zoom

45 MINUTES $75

Private chair yoga sessions are customized for your particular physical needs and personal preferences. After a detailed intake, I create a program that is unique to you. I schedule our Zoom meetings at your convenience.

On-Site Chair Yoga Group Class

I am available to come to your facility to conduct chair yoga classes. This includes senior centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, gyms, Silver Sneakers programs, etc.

Workplace Chair Yoga Session

Give your employees the gift of health and wellness. I offer lunch time 35 minute classes at your office. Only equipment required are chairs. I focus on movements that counteract the negative impact of sitting too long and spending too much time hunched over a computer. No change of clothes required.
